The Resurrection by Piero della Francesca, is housed in the Museo Civico in Sansepolcro to Arezzo. It was performed by the artist between 1463 and 1465. The core of this masterpiece is the figure of the Risen Christ that bisects the rear of the landscape: lush vegetation on the right is opposed to the left side of the dying, all this has a symbolic value identified in the eternal struggle between Good and Evil. Note that
Piero della Francesca in this work depicts Christ Pantocrator own iconology of the classic Byzantine and puts in his hand the banner of the Guelphs.
long I planned to do a post on the Resurrection at the Easter S. In this moment of sadness for our brothers affected by the disaster, I think of the Resurrection is the hope that soon will rise from despair.
