me these pictures had escaped about a month ago (during the infamous visit of my parents) but, as most recently in San Francisco does not happen anything special apart from the usual good weather, I take this opportunity to publish now. I should have known that Caramel was a good place already when I was told that Clint Eastwood had been the mayor, but I honestly did not know what to expect. Go is an invigorating, with the air of a city always on holiday and a beautiful ocean. The English mission is well maintained, with a garden of herbs that even in December and was fragrant in full bloom. If I had time I'd visit all the missions the California coast, going from San Francisco to San Diego and taking all the sun as possible. If I think that this time last year we were preparing for Hawaii I could cry! The plans for this year are to go to Mexico, but not immediately. Now there are too many things, the bedroom to be redone, a possible promotion of Sterling and maybe even a move to Los Angeles ... although I very much hope that it will not happen. Meanwhile, I learned another new thing on the Americans: a recommendation is neither more nor less than what the word suggests. I think you're good, so I recommend it to who should take over and I is not nothing in his pocket. It is a dirty business, not There's nothing to hide and he speaks with great openness. Who would have thought ...

"Basically it's a bit even your president," Life goes
In the general climate of optimism that pervaded yesterday's San Francisco, has anyone even tried to divert my thoughts from the dark italics nano, saying that in Basically, from a resident of the United States, I consider Obama also my president. It 's a nice thought, but I just can not forget the squalor of "home". While the first working day of Obama opens with important decisions such as those to close Guantanamo and stop the salaries of Cabinet members, in Italy you continue to pull each other's hair on the issue of wiretaps. But how? Better to talk about pleasant things, such as the inauguration ceremony yesterday that we watched on the giant screen installed in front of the Civic Center along with other two thousand people. There were cheers for Obama and Michelle, guffaws for Cheney in a wheelchair and the usual applause for our former Mayor Diane Feinstein. There were the inevitable American tears, smiles and Stars and Stripes flags. Sterling has even joined the chorus of the national anthem, which he said did not happen for years. Returning home, we discovered that we live on the corner of St Obama and Brobama St: someone had changed all road signs, including precisely those of our cross between Fulton and Broderick. Last night there were parties all over town, but I Sterling and we preferred to stay at home with the bottle of Cristal that we decided to take a chance and we took off within an hour. Strictly on their own, looking for a good time from inviting friends and relatives.

NARCISO
Narciso: son of the river god and the nymph Liriope Cefis. His myth is narrated according to different versions.
Certainly the most famous is that recounted by Ovid in his Metamorphoses, the poet says that he is a young man 's incomparable beauty, and desired by young girls. But he, heedless of all, indifferent to the passion of love, dedicated exclusively to hunting spending his days in complete solitude. As he
falls in love with Echo, a nymph condemned by Juno to repeat the last words heard.
Narcissus rejects his love, fled into the woods, Eco is consumed for the love of her until only her voice remains.
When another nymph falls in love with the young and is invariably dismissed as all the other pretenders, this calls into heaven to punish Narcissus: his wish is granted by Nemesis, the goddess of revenge, one day the young man, tired of having driven long, he stopped near a spring, and while it cools, he finds his own reflection in the water: he falls in love with her.
Realizing that he could never give her love to that image, is allowed to die, bringing to fruition the revenge request.
His body disappears and in its place a flower is born will have his name.
Others tell us that one day, leaning too close to her reflection in a pond, as if to kiss her, he fell in and drowned: the gods, for compassion, it changed into the flower that bears his name.
According to a third version, the gods led him to suicide and the flower was born from his blood.
Other times, there is also close Eco: in the painting by Nicolas Poussin, the nymph is almost evanescent: this will most likely to show that the poor woman was dying to love to the point of being only "voice." In the work of Poussin
the torch is to be noted that the cupid's hand: This is meant to symbolize the death of Narcissus: in fact with the torches were lit Funeral processions and then used to light the funeral pyre.
Finally, the flowers next to the lifeless young now, alluding to the metamorphosis of Narcissus.
In Christian iconography of the Annunciation in the representations or Paradise, the flower takes on the meaning of Divine Love and eternal triumph of life over death, selfishness and sin, an example of Divine Love also gives us the the "Noli Me Tangere" by Fra Angelico.
******
Even the flower can be found in the iconography of Cesare Ripa to represent when the Stupidity, shows us a woman caressing a goat, having daffodils in his hand and a crown of these same flowers in mind: the Ripa says, its always considering the Greek root Narki "the narcissus flower is that serious and foolish
the head. "
The same Ripa's love shows itself with a woman who has a crown on the head of Bladder, holding a daffodil and feet a peacock.

Narcissus is often shown, pictorially, everything just as he reflected in a fountain next to him always the flower that bears his name.
In his work, for example, Caravaggio portrays him alone, in my opinion, the great artist, knows how to make perfect the moment of falling In fact the young man seems entranced in front of his image and apparently can not just separarse more: the image of him and form a whole, almost in an embrace ... all around is darkness, as if to signify that there is no other Narciso now that his effigy.

So the flower becomes a symbol of selfishness and self-love. The funeral
meaning derives from the fact that they believed they had a hell of flower: in fact, Homer, Hymn to Demeter speaks and says that the flower was created by Jupiter from the earth to "please the god that many people accept" that is Pluto or Hades, god of the underworld.
addition to greek, narkissos narkào has the root of the verb meaning "to numb, stiff," and then gives the sense of death.

Can U Wash A Honeywell Hepa Filter
Just to cheer up these pages, I had a little smosciate after the previous post, updating the situation on the now former Ziff Davis group. Meanwhile, the latest news leading to forty the number of employees laid off, instead of thirty as we were told initially. For nearly a week was all disoriented and alcohol, but ended on a positive note Saturday night with a mega party at a friend's house directly involved in the affair. And here they are all together in the photo, with a pair of intruders, of course including Sterling, who did not lose an opportunity to make some noise. Life goes on, it was said, so better to celebrate as long as you are still together, before the new work will lead some of us in other cities. Shane, for example, will go to Los Angeles, Jane in Boston. Ryan, Matt and four other adventurers have decided to "go it alone" and to continue to produce their video program independently, without investors. It 's a courageous decision that has also required a large dose of creativity: how to get the cameras and equipment necessary for filming? And here comes the power of the fans: in just two days, thanks to a collection launched on Twitter, the group has collected no less than $ 7,500! Here, the spirit of this initiative and creative use of new media I've seen rarely in Italy. As he also said Moky, the ability of Americans to reinvent itself is amazing and reaction time and recovery are much shorter than the classic "period of mourning" following a dismissal in Italy. Maybe now there will be new jobs available for all but the most creative will they think of something, they will get it back to the crisis. Which is a bit of the spirit-American superhero, what falls but then rises again. We will do our Sterling also to rise again after the flu shot with a cold? This is currently not known, but while I'm pecking all his laments for twenty-four hours in a row. In my little I have a superhero ...

Monocular Bourne Ultimatum
bye and thanks I
Thirty of our friends and colleagues were laid off en masse today. Not a couple or five or ten, but thirty . The dirty details are on every American website dedicated to video games, but summarize them for the sake of news. The publisher Ziff Davis, a pioneer in publishing video games in America, long sought a buyer to deal with a heavy economic crisis. The buyer, Hearst Corp., has materialized, did her shopping and then decided to do a piece that had become his lawfully. It was therefore held on site 1UP, the most profitable of the package, and canceled a nanosecond in the video department and that of the magazines, which made it less. Obviously it was not made any attempt to save the people working in these areas. All went to the office this morning as usual and found themselves in front of the classic "good-bye and thank you." And so tonight we are all given appointment in a downtown bar: they, the victims, and we, the supporters. See them as meeting grounds for once the largest of them, it hurts. Some have already an alternative, but those who are confused, who has a wife and children, who plans to change everything and go live in Japan. There's even those who have decided to take advantage of the sudden freedom studying Italian. And suddenly I think I know how they felt the people of this city eight years ago when the bubble burst of the dot-com.

" My friend singularissimo ... "so he turned to Cosimo de 'Medici, the painter of Lese Benozzo, better known as Benozzo Gozzoli, according to the name that was given by Vasari in his book" Lives ". Still, Vasari says that he was a disciple Angelico, Fra 'Giovanni (Beato Angelico).
He also worked in Florence and, although re-evaluated only years later, he was one of the architects of the development of art and Florentine history.
Being friendly with the Medici family, was commissioned by Cosimo in 1459 that began the decoration of the chapel of the palace in Via Larga, now Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the Ride (or procession or Travel) of the Magi.
The work aims to be the celebration of the Medici family, as the religious subject is used as a pretext to represent the procession arrived in Florence from Ferrara at the Council (1438-1439): the Medici lavished so there was a reunification between the Latin and the Byzantine church, as the Emperor of Byzantium to the West for help in anticipation of the siege by the turkish Sultan Mohammed the Conqueror to the city of Constantinople.
In fact the reunification did not happen, the fact remains that the fresco, however, gave great prestige to
House of Medici: particularly the east wall of the chapel see represented among the participants in the parade of Gaspar, much of the Medici family.
